Nice to meet you. I’m Kathryn.
For as long as I can remember, I have been captivated by all things pregnancy and birth. My idea of good reality TV as a teen was TLC’s popular show, A Baby Story. As a student in college and grad school, I would procrastinate writing all of my tedious papers by watching hours of birth videos, in awe of what the human body was capable of creating and sustaining. Whenever friends or family members announced their new addition, I would yelp with joy and do whatever I could to support their parenting journey, whether that was clearing the sink of dirty dishes, being on diaper-duty for the afternoon, or accompanying them out of the house so outings didn’t feel so overwhelming.
You see, I’ve been a doula for a while— I just didn’t have a name for it for the longest time. After working in youth ministry for nearly a decade, I decided to shift my professional focus from mentoring youth and young adults to nurturing newborns and their parents. In January of 2022, I trained with DONA International, and I’ve been serving mothers, babies, and families ever since. It would be the greatest honor to support your family through one of life’s most precious transitions!
Some fun tidbits about me:

I’m enamored with all fiber and textile crafts
I’m freakishly organized and love rearranging rooms/spaces to be more tidy and efficient
I have a penchant for snail mail and make all my own letters/envelopes
I feel my absolute best when I’m near/in a body of water, be it lake, ocean, river, pool, or bathtub
